I came across this car in front of work Friday and snapped a photo. After getting back to my computer I had to take it to the next level and give this person a personalized award.

Well,at least they didn’t park up against the curb.
Technically one is supposed to park with the tire at the edge of the asphalt,18 inches away from the curb. The concrete area is the gutter and should be kept clear so when it rains, the water can flow freely in to the drains.
How many people here know that and park correctly? Not many I bet.
I think that defeats the purpose of what I did though. Its much more fun to give them a personalized picture of their stupidity to keep forever and ever amen.
actually, here in denver, it is illegal and ticketable to park more than 12 inches away from a curb, gutter or not. so that 18 inches thing doesnt stand everywhere.
SERIOUSLY. the douchebag that thinks this is photoshopped, not only are you ignorant but you made yourself look like an ass. not only are there a lack of “pixels showing” but the shading and lighting in the pic are exaclty right. if this WAS photoshopped then i would definetly PAY the person who could do this so expertly. awesome picture btw. i had someone leave a note on my car telling me they would wash it for free. lol.
Way back when I had driver’s ed someone parked in between two spaces RIGHT OUTSIDE of where class was held. The driver’s ed teacher left them a hilarious note. :)
also, for anyone that didn’t know… the “photoshop” thing is a joke. It’s been a running joke on the internet for quite some time. Also thanks to xkcd I claim things in real life are photoshopped for fun. If you don’t know what I’m talking about there please click my name. I’ve linked to the comic.
Heh, now you should have printed out the reward, stuck it on his/her car, then taken another photo of it…
That way, they can see a reward on their car, with a picture of a reward on their car, with a picture of a reward on their car… etc.etc. It’s a fractal!
Hahah! I’ve seen nothing quite that bad for ages.
I have seen some pretty awful parking across yellow lines up onto pavements, blocking disabled bays and outside the local school too. Some people shouldn’t be allowed to drive (or park!)
Next time print out the award
put it on the car
take a picture
print out a second award and replace the first
And you’ll have a recursive photo of the award and car.
I once left something like that in the 1990s when I came out to the parking lot of WalMart to find the car next to me had parked so close that I literally had 1″ of movement on the left side. No one could get in the car from the left, and it was nearly impossible to get out of the space.
So I remembered something my older sister had given me, that I just happened to have in the trunk, saved for a rainy day. It was a laminated piece of paper with a huge picture of a smiling Mickey Mouse flipping the bird, and off to the side it said “Thanks a lot Asshole! Next time leave a f*cking can opener so I can get my car out!”. She told me to use it in case of emergency. So I did. Hope it made their day, because I know taking 15 minutes to get out of a WalMart parking lot sure made mine.
It would have been more effective if you punched a hole in the window and stapled it to the steering wheel. Now you’re just motivating the ass to park stupid to collect another award.
I did something like this once - trying to get home, and could not get past a car parked on the sidewalk. He came back to a big piece of paper on his windscreen reading PARKER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2008!
lol, thats awesome. thats like something my mom needs. whenever we go to someplace(like walmart or the mall) or any place with parking spots she pulls in across, literally, 2-4 parking spots x.x
Reminds me the line in Annie Hall: the woman parks her car and asks the passenger: ‘Is that an OK parking job?’ And he looks out his window and replies: ‘Oh yeah, I think I can walk from here to the curb.’
its idiots like this that wonder why there car got hit this is a great idea though im i cant believe that this hasn’t come up on a fail pic. great post
this is nicer then what i did , i went to see walle with my lady . when i went to my car some idiot parts no less then a foot in a half from my car door , im 6.3 almost 280 pounds and my knee is bad since i teared a ligament at work . man me and my lady left a note that said ” learn to part you sack of shit ” and i dinged his car door a few times
There’s a few sites delicated to these theme… if u search “Parking idiots” those websites has lots of them. haha. But where did u print the “notice” u gave?
May I just point out that only 1 person has said photoshopped and it was pointed out that that was a joke. I’ve always been against people trying to point out photoshops but the people going off about it here have reached a point of paranoia. If any of you are reading this, it ain’t an insult, just try to calm down a bit and read the comments before you reply to others, ok?
Great idea! I’d love to see the reaction, absolutely brilliant.
I hate to break it to you, but someone who parks like that won’t begin to understand the point of that “prize.” I know, cuz I used to be married to her.
so funny and SO true! there have often been times i’ve wanted to be a ‘parking police’ or something cuz people just DON’T KNOW HOW TO PARK!!! lol i think i might start this around here…..bad parkers beware!! thanks for the giggle
Oh, not even. I was in a very small town. I came across a car, parked in the middle of not just a street but an intersection. All doors opened. Parked diagonally. No driver anywhere in sight and (s)he didn’t show up in the time I was there.
how do you know that there wasnt a handicapped person in the car and needed that room to get out, or somebody with a broken leg or someone in a wheelchair.
You’re talking about physically handicapped people, not mentally handicapped ones. Being in a wheelchair doesn’t make you retarded, so you’d have no excuse for parking that way.
Yeah, timothy, I myself am in a wheelchair, and I can quite honestly that if anything I’d have to park closer to the curb so as allow the wheelchair lift some room to open up. As for a person with a broken leg, I don’t know. I don’t trust people who weren’t born cripple. Fakers.

June 10th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
We waited around for a few hours but they never came. I was trying to complete the circle with the final pic. Oh well.
June 20th, 2008 at 6:41 pm

June 30th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Yup, there always is one person that has to ruin the fun. Good Job Tim.
June 30th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
You should have taken the picture with the award in the window and put it on an award, then replace the one in their window with that one.
June 30th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
Thank you Officer Tim.
Really is too bad they never showed up for the pic trifecta.

July 1st, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Hah hah, also good would have been “You’re parking is bad and you should feel bad.”
July 1st, 2008 at 3:04 pm
obviously photoshopped you can see the pixels around the award-duh…
but still, my friend, you have won the internet
July 1st, 2008 at 3:11 pm
Why would I photoshop this? It is 10 feet from my desk and took a whole 5 minutes to do. Are you stupid or something?
July 1st, 2008 at 3:54 pm
>>28
you fail on so many levels.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:11 pm
I don’t get it, the car is parallel to the curb and facing the correct direction. What’s wrong with this parking job?

July 1st, 2008 at 9:34 pm
That’s awesome, it’s too bad the person didn’t come back. Would’ve been so much better.
And to anybody who thinks this is shopped, look at the backgrounds of the photos.
July 1st, 2008 at 9:43 pm

Shit, I didn’t pick up the sarcasm, you’re right. :( My bad.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:17 pm
In IL when in drivers education class one is taught that your car must be 6-12 inches from the curb.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:43 pm
LOL! Taxi to the curb!
@Marchy: That cartoon is funny, saw it a while back
July 2nd, 2008 at 12:27 am

@ Tim (#14) In California, you must park *within* 18 inches of the curb, so zero inches is legal, 18.1 inches is not. Vehicle Code Section 22502a.
July 2nd, 2008 at 1:20 am
Hahah! I’ve seen nothing quite that bad for ages.

July 2nd, 2008 at 8:25 am
Hey officer Tim
The law is you have to park “within 18 inches of the curb” not “at least 18 inches away”
Bad cop no donut for you!
Nice fast work on the award, you really should have recorded the girls reactions (yes girl, I know it is cuz woman drivers are the suxor)
July 2nd, 2008 at 9:30 am
actually, this person was handicapped and needed the extra space
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:04 am
Heh… that’s pretty damned funny.
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:13 am
yes: ‘insufficient sarcasm’. How about awarding someone who actually deserves it?
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:54 am
Well, i guess no one noticed the puke on the ground next to the car… I’d give the driver a break, he was hung over as hell.
July 2nd, 2008 at 11:55 am
By Puke, you mean Oil.
July 2nd, 2008 at 12:24 pm

July 2nd, 2008 at 4:23 pm

July 2nd, 2008 at 5:36 pm
any other bonus?
July 2nd, 2008 at 6:51 pm
LOL very good.
July 2nd, 2008 at 7:37 pm

@ Everyone who thinks it is photoshopped…
If it truly was photoshopped, the spot on the ground that looks like an oil drip in the award picture would be shiny, like on the original picture.
Congrats, i solved the puzzle. You’re all idiots. Not photoshopped, just brilliant.
Bravo
July 4th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
Just in case everybody doesn’t know yet, Saying something is photoshopped is a running internet joke. So if you see it, brush it off.
